On January 28th 2017 I was honoured to be invited along to the Waterhead Hotel near Ambleside to be Liz and John’s Wedding DJ. The Waterhead Hotel is a Boutique style Hotel and is one of The English Lakes Hotels situated on the outskirts of Ambleside.
Liz and John live down in Worcestershire but we had managed to get a pre-wedding meeting together last Autumn to discuss how they wanted their night to run and what type of music they were into. The Bride and Groom also told me on my recommendation they had hired ace Wedding Photographer and good friend of mine Dan Wootton to be their Photographer for the day. Dan is great to have at your Wedding, not only does he have a sharp eye to capture that perfect moment but he does get down and dirty, on this Wedding that included getting on his knees on one of Windermere’s jettys and getting covered in duck and geese poo!!!
Liz and John had organised Gin Cocktails for all of their guests instead of Champagne which I think was a great idea as The Waterhead is renowned for its collection of different Gins.
The Bride and Groom decided for their first dance to have Home by Scouting for Girls, a song from April 2016 for the Band. The Dancefloor was full all night with guests dancing to song requests by Will Smith, Craig David and some Phil Collins for The Mother of The Bride.
The following day The Bride, Groom and their guests were all of to another of The English Lakes Hotels, The Wild Boar at Crook for an afternoon of Clay Pigeon Shooting with Michael Coates. Again Michael is a good friend of mine and an excellent teacher, especially if you have not shot a gun before. I am sure they had a great time as the sun was shining all day on Sunday.
Thank you Mr and Mrs Greaves for being such excellent hosts, I would like to wish you a long, happy and healthy life together as Husband and Wife. X
