Saturday April 13th 2013 saw me travelling to Willington Hall, Tarporley, Cheshire to celebrate Joanna and Phillip Durrans Wedding Day. Willington Hall is a stunning venue, built in 1829 and set in 17 acres of formal gardens and Cheshire parkland.
The weather was a typical Spring Day, sunshine and showers with most of the showers happening when people were enjoying their Wedding Breakfast. It was good to meet and liaise with Adam Johnson from ARJ Photography, top photographer and all round nice guy who took all these excellent pictures featured in my blog.
Jo and Phils Wedding reception started of with the bride and grooms first dance which was Etta James…At Last, the perfect song for a classy couple. This was quickly followed by three songs chosen by Jo and Phil which all had a connection with their amazing Honeymoon to Japan, Hawaii and San Francisco. The songs I played were Turning Japanese by The Vapours, Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys and We Built This City by Starship. I had to get out my Hawaiian outfit for the second song….
Having had a Pre Wedding Consultation with Jo and Phil a few weeks before their big day I had a good idea of what music to play and how the night was going to work out. We had a brilliant Stags vs Hens Dance-off with Miles leading Team Phil while Suzi was showing us how to do a “slut drop” for Team Jo! Music played through-out the night ranged from The Cure..Friday I’m In Love to T-Rex…I Love to Boogie. As an alternative end to the evening Jo and Phil asked for You’ve Got The Love by The Source ft Candi Staton which worked really well and got everyone on the dancefloor and ensured a Big Finish Ending to the night!
I would like to wish Jo and Phil a long happy and healthy life together as Mr and Mrs Durrans.
